Visitor Map
Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why the Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.

Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, t'was his intent
To blow up the King and Parli'ment.
Three-score barrels of powder below
To prove old England's overthrow;

By God's providence he was catch'd
With a dark lantern and burning match.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, let the bells ring.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, God save the King!

And what should we do with him?
Burn him!

Tim Burton - Genius or whack job?

So last night after i got home from a friend's funeral, I couldn't sleep (restless mind). i decided to rummage thru my DVD collection, and found a movie i hadn't seen since it's original release, Planet of the Apes, the remake done by Tim Burton.

I've always been a big fan of Tim Burton's directorial style in his movies. He has great sets, wonderful cinematography, and wacky story lines that range from mildly amusing to downright outrageous.

I thought i'd rank movies he's done into two categories : Genius vs. Whack job.

Genius :
1. Edward Scissorhands
2. The Nightmare before Christmas
3. Willy Wonka
4. Planet of the Apes
5. Sweeney Tood
6. Sleepy Hollow
7. Mars Attacks
8. James and the Giant peach
9. Ed Wood
10. Beetlejuice
11. Pee Wee's Big Adventure

Whack Job :
1. Batman
2. Corpse Bride
3. Cabin Boy
4. Big Fish

So there you go. More genius movies than whack jobs for sure, so he is still one of my all time favorite directors of great movies. He is currently in the process of remaking "Alice in Wonderland" which i can't wait for. hopefully this will be added to the genius list!

BB10 update

So i just watched Sunday's episode last night (thanks TIVO) and my hopes for Keesha as HOH were high as she is my pick for ending up in the top two. But she faltered terribly! All this talk about how she was going to shake up the house, and then she goes around and tells almost everyone of her plan. Bad strategy my dear....it's a good thing you are pretty.

I can't say that i'm disappointed with your nominations, Jessie in particular has got to go, as i'm convinced that his muscles has affected his brain in a profound and seriously f--- up way, but your way of nominating him will most likely back fire on you. But if jessie does go, that will be the 3rd man in a row. Can't anyone else see woman power on the rise in the house?

We'll see.....

Good Night, and Good luck

Watched this movie again (released originally in 2006, with 6 oscar nominations) and forget how good this story truly is. It makes you think about the role of government, and how we, as citizens, must be constantly questioning what actions our government is taking, and holding them in check and accountable. Nothing is more important to each of us than our own individual freedoms and liberties. Never doubt that.

If you haven't seen this movie yet, put it on the top of your list.

Big brother 10

So on July 13th CBS kicked off new season of Big Brother, and just in time for my summertime blues. Strange mix of personalites this season, but my fav so far is Keesha the waitress. I'll make my early prediction right now that she'll be in the final two.

I love the elderly, but Jerry has got to go. And Brian was too cool to be kicked off first, but that seems to be the way the cookie crumbles in this crazy game

Two Men with the Blues

Looking for something different to listen to? Try the new Willie Nelson and Wynton Marsalis compliation live album, "Two Men with the Blues" . This album was taped live in NYC, and is a real treat for Jazz, country, and people who can just recognize and enjoy pure talent.

Listened to this while star gazing the other night. perfect.

Batman : The Dark Knight vs. Hellboy

Whether a fan of comic book movies or not, you should not miss this movie. Christoper Nolan truly out does himself from his first Batman movie, and make a true epic, in classic movie making style. My favorite scene in the show has to be the Semi truck chase scence thru Gotham. It's sick!!!

The next day i went and saw Hellboy 2. i fell asleep during the original, but went to see this for two reasons. 1 - Seans means, SL Trib entertainment writer gave it 4 stars (same as the dark knight) and i trust his movie criticisms (until now anyway) and the fact that Guillermo Del Toro directed it (famed director of Pan's Labyrinth, one of my favorite's)

I was so dissappointed. This movie's script felt forced thru out the show, and wasn't funny at all. It was mostly painful to listen to. The special effects were awesome, but what good are effects with no story to back them up? Hands down, this movie sucked. Do not see.

Pandora Radio

So I went and bought myself the new Iphone this past week. So far so good, it is one sweet little machine. I love it's instant Facebook applications and easy to access internet, but one of applications that it offers (for Free) is Pandora. It is a free Music website where you can type in one artist that you like, and the site will automatically not only paly music from them, but artists with similiar styles. It's a great way to quickly listen to what you want, and also great sounds from bands you might not of heard of.

Go to PANDORA RADIO for more info about them. Highly recommended.
